Home sweet home.

Frans' Merc

Today we picked up Frans' new/old Merc. An '81 380SE.
For many of us this is just another car and we wouldn't take a second glance at it.
For Frans this is a long cherished dream. I think that now that he retired he thought it would be the time to get the thing he has always wanted.
Frans is a very down to earth kinda guy. Rough on the outside, you know the type. But never have I seen him pround and happy like this. Even not when I became his son in law... For me this is also a moment I won't easily forget. Such happiness and greatfullness is so rare. It put me back on earth as well and reminds me not to take all that I have for granted. We should count our blessings more often. All of us.

Don't you just love those classic cars.

Just 4days ago I picked her up after tune-up, new points and gaskets. Today I took her on the highway. To my surprise she was driving better than ever, pushin 90mph. 2minutes from destination she started shaking like crazy. Guess something in the drivetrain came lose. Crap!
Maybe its time to get that new dodge or chevy pick-up.

Bobby & BamBam

My niece Bobby competed for the first time with her horse in a jumping contest. Allthough she was nervous she did very well for a first time.
At the same time Cheaks is spending the day at Duindicht in Wassenaer, gambling at the horseraces with the socalled high society.

Result of the temperature checking is that 6 passengers are quarantined. We could only disembark after 2hours.

Upon landing in shanghai we all got instructed to stay put till we got thermotemperatured.
Men in white boarded. Goggles, mask en plastishoes included.
5 indians found to be having high temp so more waiting, as announced by the captain. A doctor is on the way...
Crap! Is this gonna take long? Why not just put those 5 in quarantaine and let me go?
